A Thank You to our Customers, Pros & Team

Despite the challenges this year brought, we still jingle bell rocked and rolled through 2020. Around here, we like to give credit where credit is due so in true holiday fashion, we are ringing some bells about our top-10 2020 highlights. NONE of this would be possible without our amazing customers, all-star pros and Rent Ready team members. Thank you!

#1 - Landing on the Charlotte Business Journal’s Fast 50 list

 

With the best team on board, processes in place and technology rollouts, we completed more than 30,000 turn services in over 350 apartment communities throughout Charlotte, Raleigh and Atlanta in 2019. This tremendous growth placed us 29th on the list!

 

#2 - Launching an entirely new service in less than 60 days

 

It took brain-busting brainstorms, zillions of Zooms and copious cups of coffee. But in less than 60 days, the team here managed to launch a completely new service offering -- Virus Safeguard service -- in 60+ markets in response to the pandemic.

 

#3 - Rolling out a new internal technology platform

 

Technology is our bread and butter – it’s how we’ve grown this rapidly and how we will continue to grow exponentially. So, we don’t have a Siri around here; meet Stella. We launched her to improve the overall operational efficiencies in the company.

 

#4 – Introducing a new Pro App

 

Speaking of our obsession with technology, we also introduced an app for our service pros. The app delivers work-order details, including future work orders, pay summaries and more, to the pros so they have it right at their fingertips.

 

#5 - Successfully transitioning our entire company to virtual positions

 

We are a close-knit team, so it was tough to not be a cubicle or office away from one another. But, nine months in and we’re still fully remote. We can confidently say our customers and pros would say that we haven’t skipped a beat. 

 

#6 - Celebrating SIX years of business!

 

That’s right - in 2014, Will Brugh, Jonathan Kite, and Ryan McMillan came together with a vision: change the way the industry turns apartments by becoming a national platform and the leading national expert in apartment turn services. And we’re ringing in this sixth year by being named a Startup to Watch in 2021 by Charlotte Inno.

 

#7 – Welcoming 227 new customers to Rent Ready

 

In 2020, we brought on 227 new apartment communities across all markets for our core service offerings (preparing apartment units for new residents to move in) and Virus Safeguarding. Here’s looking at you, Rent Ready business development and sales teams … wow!

 

#8 - Generating annual growth above 50% every year … for yet another year

 

Sure; this type of growth was in our plan for the year, but none of us predicted such a huge business disruption. This highlight underscores the resiliency of the team and the trust our customers place in us.

 

#9 - Learning more about our CEO via Business NC

 

Who knew that our fearless leader, Jonathan Kite, would choose Eastern in the Eastern/Western BBQ sauce debate?! In all seriousness, we enjoyed learning not only about his BBQ preference, but also his take on his inspiration, business challenges, thoughts on the future and more in this feature by Business NC.

 

#10 – Expanding service-pro operations to larger companies

 

Since our inception, we have had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented service pros in the industry – painters, maintenance technicians, carpet cleaners and many more. As we put our foot on the gas even more this year, we added larger companies (paint, clean, etc.) to our existing network of individual operators. This change dramatically expanded our number of skilled professionals who can prep a unit flawlessly for a new resident in a snap and created a great opportunity for service companies.
