How to conduct:
After you make contact with a pro, have then go to the front door of the unit, and "walk the walls" That means, have them walk in the door and start walking along the parameter of the unit to the right showing the walls as they walk. Throughout their walk, have them pause and show you the highlighted areas. After they have walked the wall, have them stand in the middle of each room and give you a 360 of each to see a holistic view.
These highlighted areas can be viewed and checked when pros 'walk the walls':
- Full coverage/no missed area - as they walk the walls, you'll see if any areas are missed by accident
- No Overspray - as a Pro walks the walls, you'll be able to see if there is overspray on the floors, ceilings, or other areas
- No paint in sinks/tubs - as they walk the bathrooms and kitchens, have them pause at every sink and tub for you to see
- Trim painted with clean lines - as they walk the walls, make sure to note the trim areas and have them show you
- Wall prep - by looking at outlets, switch covers, knobs, etc. you'll be able to see if walls were prepared efficiently
- Straight cut-ins - look at the corners as they walk the walls
- Cobwebs/dust removed before painting - make sure you don't see any cobwebs in any corners
These highlighted areas can be viewed and checked when pros give you the '360 view':
- No bleed throughs - you'll be able to see the walls and possible bleed throughs. Areas to look at specifically for bleedthrough:
- Grease stains near the stove
- Bedroom walls around headboard height
- Anywhere where there were markers on the wall (specifically red markers)
- Even coverage/no streaks
- No visible repairs
- Unit painted the correct color
- No mess left
